On June 18, 2018, Law No. 30795, Law for the Prevention and Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease and Other Dementia was published.
The purpose of this law is to establish a legal framework for the comprehensive protection of patients with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia, considering measures for the prevention, evaluation, diagnosis and promotion of a comprehensive health care system.
Among these measures were established two labor aspects concerning the rights of direct family members and caregivers in charge of the care of patients with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia; in this way, it was established that said persons shall have the right to:
Requesting and receiving, in agreement with your employer, the extraordinary supporting that allow to attend situations related to the assessment and urgent attention of the patient with Alzheimer's and other dementia.
Requesting your employer up to one paid leave per year, in order to meet the needs of the patient.
